The theme for the Australian Therapeutic Landscapes Conference 2020 is Connect, Rest and Restore.

Over two days we will be exploring the idea of Restorative Landscapes through workshops, presentations, discussions and events. We hope you can join us.

Dates: March, 2021
Venues: The LongHouse, Edible Precinct and Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, Hobart, Tasmania.

We are inviting submissions to present at ATLC2020.

This year’s theme is Restorative Landscapes. We invite 30mins oral presentations and 1-1.5hr activity-based workshops from researchers, professionals, practitioners, students and TH participants that address the many and varied ways nature, gardens, horticulture or green spaces can function as restorative spaces. We welcome any presentations that help us to understand the challenges, enablers and impacts of connecting, resting, and restoring health and wellbeing in natural environments.

The following sub-themes should be used to guide your submission

Innovation
Oral presentation or activity-based workshop should explain innovative techniques, equipment, materials or design that contribute to restorative landscapes

Practice
Oral presentation or activity-based workshop should highlight therapeutic programs & discuss how they contribute to the restorative function of being in nature or green spaces

Research
Oral presentation or activity-based workshop> should provide information on up-to-date research methodologies, findings and analysis; critical thinking on Therapeutic Landscapes research; or identify areas in need for additional research.

Format Required:
Abstract should be a single paragraph summarising material to be presented.
Authors should indicate how the presentation aligns to the conference theme ‘Restorative Landscapes".
Please submit in Microsoft Word format.

Abstract should be no longer than 300 words. Other details to provide include:

– Title of paper
– Presentation type: oral paper or workshop
– Author’s full name, title, qualifications or course of study
– Current position and employment details
– Contact details including phone and email address
– Short bio (100 words) and photo
– Indicate electronic resources required

– Activity-based workshop submissions should highlight activities that will be undertaken and a description of any resources delegates will receive.

Submission of abstracts:
Abstracts should be submitted via email to conference@tha.org.au by 5pm Monday, 23rd November 2020.

Selection and notification:
Criteria for selection will include originality, clarity of presentation, relevance and professional interest.

You will be notified by Monday 14th December 2020 whether your abstract has been chosen.

All selected authors are responsible for meeting all costs associated with attending the conference. All accepted presenters will receive a discount on their conference registration.
